BERHAMPUR: Central committee member of the CPI (Maoist) party, Ramakrishna alias RK is still elusive although massive manhunt for him is on in Narayanpatna block and adjoining jungles in Koraput district of south Orissa. Elite Greyhounds commandos from Andhra Pradesh are also part of this operation.
According to sources, eight to nine units of Greyhounds are involved in the operation. Personnel of the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Orissa are also taking part in it. The Central paramilitary forces camping in the area are sealing off the roads and the jungles where RK is suspected to be hiding with his son. Meanwhile, on Monday night, Maoists blasted an unfortified police station at Kakiriguma in Koraput district.
No one was injured and no arms were looted as only an unarmed village guard was manning the station. It was suspected that this blast was aimed at distracting security forces from the combing operation in the Narayanpatna area.
